Abstract
The pollinating insectsr of Mimulus repens were observed in a natural population at Lake Ellesmere, Canterbury. Data on morphology, phenology, and compatibility of the flowers were obtained in the field and from greenhouse experiments. The population was shown to be self-compatible and facultative xenogamous. The pollen/ovule ratio was found to be lower than that observed for other species with similar outcrossing indices. Keywords
