Abstract
The pathological findings in a single case of fatal glandular fever are described. Both the brain and spinal cord appeared congested upon gross examination. Histological study revealed edema of the motor cortex, basal ganglia, basis pedunculi, medulla and cerebellum. In addition some chromatolysis and degeneration were apparent in scattered pyramidal cells, reticular substance, lateral cuneate nucleus and ventral horn cells. Congestion and enlargement were noted in the liver, kidneys, spleen and heart and evidence of bronchitis and bronchopneumonia was apparent in the respiratory system. Keywords
