Estimating the Relationship Between Tourism and Economic Growth in Barbados

Abstract

This article examines tourism as a means for economic development in Barbados, applying an econometric model to evaluate tourism as a growth generator. Application of this model indicates that tourism was responsible for about 40% of the growth in per capita income during the measured period.
