Abstract
The activities of certain enzymes in various portions of the hepatic lobule of the rat were determined by microchemical procedures. Values are expressed as moles/kg dry weight/hour. Activities of alkaline phosphatase, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, phosphoglucoisomerase, lactic dehydrogenase, and glutamic-pyruvic transaminase were greater in portal areas as compared with central portions of the lobule. Isocitric dehydrogenase and glutamic dehydrogenase were of greater activity in central than portal areas, while glutamic-oxalacetic transaminase and malic dehydrogenase were of constant activity throughout the lobule. Keywords
