Abstract
Presentation of CaseA 33-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital because of interstitial lung disease.She was well until five years earlier, when she was admitted to another hospital because of dyspnea and a nonproductive cough. An x-ray film of the chest was reported to show increased interstitial markings in both lungs. Microscopical examination of a transbronchial-biopsy specimen was reported to show interstitial fibrosis and organizing fibrin; examination of immunofluorescence stains for immunoglobulins and complement was negative; examination of stained smears of bronchial washings for acid-fast bacilli was negative, and cultures yielded no mycobacteria.
