Sexual Thought Throughout the Life-Span

Abstract
4,420 persons ranging in age from 8 to 99 were interrupted in a number of situations and asked “what were you thinking about over the past 5 min.?” The incidence of sex as a topic of both focal and peripheral thought was highest in the teen and young adult years. At all ages, male thought was “sexier” than female. It appears that persons in our culture exhibit sexuality in their mental processes to a greater degree than in their actions.
