Abstract
Syndenham''s chorea not associated with any manifestations of rheumatic fever is reported clinically and pathologically. The changes in the central nervous system were of an exclusively degenerative type and showed more pathology in the cortex and thalamus than in the so-called extrapyramidal system. The literature is surveyed and the opinion advanced that Syndenham''s chorea is not a disease entity but a syndrome of many different disease processes. Keywords
