Abstract
Allelopathy is a term whose currency has broadened markedly in the past decade. Simultaneously, the ambit of biological control has widened to incorporate high technology developments, such as mycoherbicides, which for the first time facilitate the involvement of private industry in the application of biological control. Some recent developments involving allelopathy and biological control are discussed in the context of their capacity to contribute to the development of alternative technologies for deployment in more sustainable agricultural systems. Keywords
