Condensed Aromatics. Part IV. The Five-Parameter Approximation and Mean Amplitudes of Vibration

Abstract
Mean amplitudes of vibration from spectroscopic computations for coronene are presented for the first time. Good agreement is found for the results from (a) the simple five-parameter in-plane force field approximation and (b) the more elaborate Califano-Xeto force field. Mean amplitudes from the former method (a) for naphthalene and anthracene are also given.
