Abstract
In the information age of the 1980's, are effective communication skills important for executive success? To answer this question, a study was conducted of executives in selected Fortune 500 companies throughout the United States. The general consensus of the executives was that effective communication skills are more important now than ever before for business success and these skills will continue to be a critical component of the information society. Educators should give serious consideration to the findings of this research when reviewing and developing realistic business communication curricula. Keywords
