Abstract
We present two new theoretical results which offer insights into the role of finite Plateau borders at the vertices of the two-dimensional soap froth. They offer immediate explanations of recently reported anomalies in the measured vertex angles and rates of growth of individual cells for experimental samples. These are seen to be closely related. Thus Plateau borders modify the properties of the froth significantly even when they occupy a very small fraction of total area.
