Abstract
A resonance interaction of two autoionising atomic states with an external electromagnetic field is considered. The dispersion curve for absorption of the second weak (probe) wave is found. Conditions are found for which the narrower of the two peaks of this curve has a minimum width. The widths of the peaks are found analytically. The possibilities of narrowing are discussed. Keywords
