Biosystematics of Insects Living in Female Birch Catkins Ii. Inquiline and Predaceous Gall Midges Belonging To Various Genera

Abstract
Two new species of Dasineura Rondani are described, viz., D. interbracta and D. fasti- diosa, both inquilines of Semudobia galls on Betula species, collected in The Nether- lands. The species have been studied in all developmental stages, pupae excepted. Similar studies were performed with Clinodiplosis cilicrus (Kieffer) and Lestodiplosis sp. The final larval stages of some other gall midges, which may be found incidentally in fruit catkins of birch, viz., Mycodiplosis plasmoparae Rübsaamen, Arthrocnodax sp., Aphidoletes aphidimyza (Rondani) and Plemeliella betulicola (Kieffer), are briefly dealt with. Keys are provided for all gall midges in female birch catkins. Some general comments are made on the nomenclature of larval papillary patterns.Keywords
