Abstract
A research study about today's typical baccalaureate nursing student was recently completed under DHEW auspices at Youngstown State University (YSU) in northeast Ohio. The study develops a profile of contemporary RNs in the baccalaureate program - including age, working and marital status, academic achievement, gender, community interests, and type of instruction received prior to earning the RN (diploma or associate program). The study draws its conclusions based on a survey of all baccalaureate students currently enrolled at YSU.
