Abstract
A generalization of the classical semimicroscopic model is developed to explain simultaneously quasivibrational and quasirotational nuclear states. The wave functions obtained are used to calculate level sequences, electromagnetic properties, and spectroscopic factors. Experimental data are reasonably well fitted. Keywords
