A boy aged 7 underwent aortic valvuloplasty for congenital aortic stenosis. Two fused commissures were carefully incised. Almost 5 years later reoperation was carried out for recurrent aortic stenosis. The deformity had completely recurred and the commissures were again incised. From this experience and from the deformity in most values that have been visualized for relief of congenital aortic stenosis, the authors conclude that second operations will eventually be required in many patients with this disease.
