Abstract
The continued impact of a sex education program, with respect to self-reported changes in knowledge, attitudes and behaviors, was investigated in this study. Samples were drawn from a Midwestern high school identified as having an outstanding sex education program. In order to investigate Student perceptions, a Sex Education Program Outcome Questionnaire was developed. The program outcomes investigated consisted of changes in knowledge, understanding of self, values, interaction skills, fear of sex-related activities and self esteem. Using a mail survey, 285 students were sampled during the spring of 1982. Overall results indicated positive views from the respondents with respect to the program's impact on their lives. The present study supports conclusions in existing literature indicating that a secondary sex education program can enhance knowledge, attitude, and behavioral skills of students. Keywords
