Abstract
A new and more detailed interpretation is given to the fine structure in the photoionization curve of cold NO observed by Ng, Mahan, and Lee. Resonances are assigned to autoionizing np and ndδ Rydberg levels which give prominent diffuse absorption bands in a spectrum recorded with the synchrotron radiation continuum. Δν<−1 transitions in the vibrational autoionization process are substantiated. Keywords
