Abstract

Recent determinations of the oxidation-reduction potential of pure crystalline lacto-flavin render it improbable on thermodynamic grounds that flavin is reduced by the succinic acid-succinic acid dehydrogenase system. The true H donator which reduces flavin is probably formed from succinic acid by air oxidation.
