Abstract
Classically, therapeutic options for keratoconus with clear corneas are limited to spectacles and contact lenses. Penetrating keratoplasty is indicated in central corneal scarring and contact lens intolerance. Because most cases of keratoconus are young adults with clear corneas and penetrating keratoplasty has significant risks, an additional treatment to improve uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA) in contact lens intolerance would be useful. Keywords
