Abstract
The distribution of practices that train general practitioners in the west of Scotland was examined. The concentration of training practices is lowest in conurbations that are grossly deprived. Several topics require debate: should trainees be given experience in such areas as an elective? Should the criteria for selecting training practices be similar in all areas? Should practices in deprived areas be encouraged to apply to become training practices? Keywords
