Abstract
In 1939 a census of all known breeding colonies gave a world population of 165,000 [plus or minus] 9500 birds. There were 13 colonies located in the British Isles, 3 in Iceland, and 6 in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. A history of each colony is given and of 17 other localities where gannets have bred in the past. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
