Abstract
A survey of the agglutinin titers of the sera of laboratory workers subjected to varying degrees of experience with S. marcescens (SM) revealed titers ranging from 0 to 1:2560. Agglutinins for SM were found more often and in higher titer in the serums of those persons who had the most exposure to the organism. The hazards involved in careless exposure of workers to aerosols of SM and the clinical aspects of SM infection are discussed. Keywords
