Abstract
Whether the use of appropriate sodium monofluorophosphate/calcium glycerophosphate mixtures in toothpaste would affect the levels of Ca and P in plaque was studied in children. The presence of 0.13% calcium glycerophosphate in calcium carbonate based monofluorophosphate toothpaste can increase the Ca and P concentrations in the plaque and reduce plaque weight, both changes being of a kind expected to improve cariostatic activity.
