Experiments with Insecticides for Control of the Green Peach Aphid on Potatoes

Abstract
After the green peach aphid (Myzus persicae (Sulzer)) became tolerant to parathion, field-plot experiments were begun in 1954 to try to find a more effective insecticide. Both multiple and single applications were tested. Endrin and Thiodan (6,7,8,9,10, 10-hexachloro-1,5,5[alpha],6,9,9[alpha]-hexahydro-6,9-methano-2,4,3-benzodioxathiepin-3-oxide) gave better control than parathion, but Thiodan was the most effective.
