Abstract
Attempts to Coulomb excite the 8.5 μsec spontaneous-fission isomeric state in with 100- and 117-MeV ions have led to negative results. A cross section upper limit of 3.2 × , integrated over laboratory scattering angles 90° → 180°, was determined.
