Abstract
"1. An experiment with Peking ducks (Anas Platyrhynchous) was performed under laboratory conditions in order to determine whether or not the following response is irreversible. 2. The results indicated that the strength of the following response decreased progressively during the last half of the 15-day test series. It was concluded that, with reference to the question of 'irreversibility,' the processes involved in imprinting are not essentially different from those involved in other types of learned behavior."
