LATENCY AND DURATION OF PHOTICALLY ELICITED AROUSAL RESPONSES IN THE ELECTROENCEPHALOGRAMS OF PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC REGRESSIVE SCHIZOPHRENIA

Abstract
The latency and duration of the EEG arousal response to photic stimulation were studied and compared in a group of 18 patients with chronic regressive schizophrenia and 18 normal controls. While the results obtained showed no significant difference between the two groups, intra-group variability was much greater in the schizophrenic patients. The possible significance of this finding is discussed.
