Abstract
A theoretical study of a novel S-shaped double-coupler optical fibre loop and one of its variants is presented. Output and circulating intensities, finesses, peak transmission, contrast, and the product of the contrast and the peak transmission of these fibre loops are calculated and presented in graphical form. Advantages of this type of fibre loop in comparison with those of other similar loop and ring configurations as well as its potential applications, are discussed. Keywords
