Linkage structures in an urban economy

Abstract
Walker S. R. (1977) Linkage structures in an urban economy, Reg. Studies 11, 265–273. An empirical analysis is conducted of input-output relationships in an urban economy (Oxford, England), to determine the general spatial associations of a sample of both tertiary and secondary establishments. A three-way analysis of variance is employed on the data, and the linkage structure of the establishment groups found to differ significantly in terms of the type of local linkage and spatial associations. The complex linkage structure is related to the stated locational requirements of each establishment group.
