Morphologie et structure des hyphes externes observées sur le péridium des Tuber à écailles: évolution au cours du développement de l'ascocarpe

Abstract
Macro-, micro- and ultra-structural analyses were carried out at the soil–ascocarp interface of different species of Tuber (T. aestivum, T. melanosporum, T. uncinatum) during the organogenesis of the ascocarp. Four external hyphae networks are described: a double network at the upper part of the young ascocarp, hyphal tufts at the tip of the pyramidal scales, and short hyphae extending from the sterile veins of the gleba. This external hyphal system establishes a continuum between the soil and the ascocarp and assures the nutritional autonomy of the subterranean fructification. Key words: truffle (Tuber), ascocarp, hyphae (structure), microstructural analysis.
