Abstract
SINCE the first report of a successful anastomosis of a pseudocyst of the pancreas to the jejunum by Hahn1 in 1927, this procedure has apparently become the treatment of choice for many surgeons. Only Meyer,2 both of whose patients died of infection after operation, and Zieman3 (1949) express discouragement.The first successful applications of the Roux-Y principle to the operation of cystjejunostomy were reported almost simultaneously in 1948 by Gurwitz and Hurwitz,4 Migliaccio and Laurelli5 and Griesmann.6 Since then, according to Moore and Schumacher,7 there have been 9 additional cases in which the Roux-Y limb was successfully used, making a . . .
