An Investigation of Occupational Exposure on Taiwan (1973-1975)

Abstract
Data obtained from 1973-1975 for the yearly occupational exposure to ionizing radiation on Taiwan was analyzed with reference to the medical, industrial and research services. During the 3 yr monitoring period, the annual dose equivalent did not exceed 500 mrem in 91% of the radiation workers and less than 0.40% exceeded 5 rem. The total average man-rem was about 340 in 1973, 363 in 1974 and 286 in 1975, or less than 363 man-rem annually. The technical assistants were exposed significantly and represented the major occupational personnel. In contrast to other countries'' experience, the female radiation workers were less than 10% of the total number of workers being monitored.
