Abstract
A simple and inexpensive method to monitor the air for 133Xe [contamination] is described. The procedure requires only standard 10cm3 evacuated tubes, a scintillation well counter and a dose calibrator.sbd.standard equipment in most nuclear medicine laboratories. Air contamination in the range of the maximum permissible concentration in restricted areas (10pCi/cm3) can be detected easily by this technique.
