Abstract
A total of 112 [human] cases of sudden unilateral deafness are reported. Of the patients, 62% were treated by improving microcirculation, and 38% by using drugs with different points of attack. The results of both groups were compared. There was no significant difference between the audiometric results after therapy. In 84% of the patients the treatment started within 14 days after the sudden hearing loss. The early treatment within 3 days after the occurrence showed no better results than the beginning of treatment later than 3 days.
