Abstract
An agent, "lycopersicin." which was fungistatic toward Fusarium oxysporum f. lycopersici, was obtained from expressed juice of Pan America tomato plants, and occurred throughout the mature plant. It was completely stable, dialyzable, and soluble in water and methanol. A method for assay of its fungistatic activity, patterned after the cylinder-plate method to assay penicillin, is discussed. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
