Abstract
A bivalved, planktonic, larval crustacean referable to the Ascothoracida is described from shallow water off a barrier reef at St. Croix, USA, Virgin Islands. It is distinct from any known ascothoracid larva stage in the subclass, but aside from its apparent compound eyes, it is reminiscent of certain species of Synagoga. Zooplankton sorters are urged to develop a search image for ascothoracid larvae.
