Abstract
Static properties of interacting, polydisperse polymer systems, e.g. polyelectrolytes, are investigated theoretically. Emphasis is laid on the relationship between the single polymer configuration and correlations of segments belonging to different polymers. To describe intraand intermolecular correlations in an equivalent way, an Ornstein-Zernike (OZ) equation for polymer segments, or monomers, is employed. The resulting equations couple these two different kinds of correlation functions. A decoupling approximation performed on this basis can be used as a starting point to describe the scattering from an interacting polymer system in terms of microscopic quantitiesKeywords
