Abstract
The rationale for considering 1-azoniapropellane salts as potential chiral phase-transfer catalysts is presented. The synthesis of 2 examples of these types of molecules is outlined and their efficacy in phase-transfer catalyzed reactions is established. [Chiral phase-transfer catalysts are essential for biomimetric or biogenetic synthesis to be achieved with chiral or achiral reactants.].
