Egg proteins of pacific salmons genus Oncorhynchus: proteins in the soluble fraction

Abstract
The soluble fraction of eggs from pacific salmon contained three major protein components which were precipitated as a lipovitellin–phosvitin complex by distilled water. Two of these components were identified provisionally as lipovitellin and phosvitin, while the third, a simple protein, appeared to be a unique component of teleostean eggs. Livetins, present in only trace amounts, were composed of several electrophoreticaily distinct proteins which differed in number, relative mobility, and concentration between species.
