Abstract
This paper considers the economic effects of regulatory barriers on international food trade and the implications of the barriers for policy makers and U.S. agribusinesses interested in expanding into foreign markets. The primary objective of this paper is to call attention to the more complex economics of nontraditional trade barriers, such as regulatory barriers, and stimulate more serious research and teaching on the topic. Keywords
