Abstract
Patients [83] with a transient ischemic attack were investigated by computerized tomography [CT]. Of the patients, 71 had symptoms in the region of the middle cerebral artery, 12 in the basilar region. In 14 patients a hypodense lesion in the CT was found. Of those patients, 2 showed multiple lesions. The lesion always affected the region of the middle cerebral artery. Atrophy, mostly of minimal degree, was diagnosed in 31 patients.
