Abstract
The results of a band-structure calculation for thallium reported previously by the author are compared with the currently available experimental information. The purpose of the comparison is to test the validity of the theoretical model of the Fermi surface and to further refine that model. We also discuss in some detail the effects of the magnetic breakdown phenomenon on the properties of thallium. The experimental information considered in the paper deals with the galvanomagnetic, magnetoacoustic, and magnetic-susceptibility (de Haas-van Alphen effect) properties of thallium. It is found that the theoretical model is consistent with the experimental data. Keywords
