Abstract
To decrease patient anxiety and physician frustration, an information system, available at four Madison, Wisconsin Hospitals, enables patients to receive authoritative messages of four to five minutes relating to the hospital and its personnel, diagnostic procedures, general medical subjects, x-ray studies, financial matters and other pertinent topics. After making their selection from a listing of audio-taped messages, patients, by using the bedside or other hospital telephone, dial a main service number and then request and hear the selection of their choice. Keywords
