Abstract
Rank order of values as measured by the Allport-Vernon Scale tends to be positively correlated with latency of response to words related to these values, although there were several inverse relationships among 25 student subjects. Qualitative evaluation of response words as covaluant, contravaluant, or evaluative shows no significant relationship to value ranks; but examples suggest that word associations are related to values,--perhaps differently for opposite types of person.
