Abstract
The symmetrical benzene-1,3-disulphonalkylamides described herein are found to be virtually devoid of carbonic anhydrase inhibiting activity. Certain dialkylamides nevertheless retain significant diuretic activity, which is consequently regarded as an intrinsic property of the 1,3-disulphamylbenzene ring system and not as solely an expression of carbonic anhydrase inhibiting activity. Keywords
