Abstract
The aim of this paper is to show the possibilities of combining the basic principles of SAW identification (ID) tags with the well known properties of SAW sensors. The concept of SAW ID-sensors created in this way has several advantages over other solutions with the most two important being that the sensors themselves do not require a separate energy source when operating, and the SAW ID-sensor can provide the data in a remote, cordless manner. In this paper different concepts for remote accessing and identifying SAW sensors via a wireless system are considered. The experimental results using a SAW temperature sensor with the remote sensing capability demonstrate the realization of the basic conceptKeywords
