Abstract
A method for re-entrant cannulation of the duodenum in sheep was described. A Dacron arterial graft was used for attachment of the duodenum to the intestinal tube of a new type of cannula. The intestine of the sheep had grown into the arterial graft and remained permanently attached to the cannula. No blockage or leakage of digesta was apparent during a 1-yr post-surgery period.
