Abstract
A position sensitive proportional detector applied to x‐ray low angle scattering is described with emphasis on its performance in the biological field, where the time element is of great importance. Spatial resolutions of 160 μ have been obtained for counting rates up to 3×105 counts per second. Owing to this performance and to a quantum efficiency that can reach 100%, this detector can replace with advantage the x‐ray film used so far for a great number of experiments.
