Abstract
This paper describes the engineering design and fabrication of the 24 wedge-shaved coils that produce the toroidal confining field for the ATC machine. The coils have 10 turns with a 45-inch I.D. and 57-inch O.D. They are designed to produce 90,000 gauss pulsed field at the inner torus radius and 23,000 gauss at mid-radius. Stress analysis for the 380,000 pound centering force is presented. Keywords
